Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative is a member-owned utility governed and directed by a board of trustees. The geographical territory is divided into eight districts, relatively equal in population. Members of each district elect a member to represent them as a trustee for a three-year term without term limits. Each year following the filing period, should there be a need for an election, the cooperative will arrange a district meeting at a location in the district, and voting will be held in person. Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative has been blessed to have many great people willing to serve their constituents, the cooperative, and their communities over the last eight-plus decades. We look forward to many great years to come.
Members interested in running for a position on CVEC's Board of Trustees must file a notice of candidacy.

Candidate Profiles
Matt Goodson, Incumbent
Hello fellow CVEC member/owners. My name is Matt Goodson, I am your current CVEC District 5 Trustee. I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself, discuss CVEC, and make sure you know how to get in touch with me.
My childhood home is located in District 5 and I have called it my home for my entire adult life. I am a graduate of Bethel High School, Oklahoma State University, and have completed numerous professional continuing education courses regarding construction, infrastructure, and the electric industries. I spent a number of years with the U.S. Navy Construction Battalions and U.S. government participating in the construction of vital infrastructure throughout the world. I was the CEO of Circuit Engineering District 4 until my early retirement about 6 years ago. Currently, I help take care of the land my in-laws settled on about 70 years ago. However, one of the most rewarding accomplishments has been being your Trustee for CVEC District 5. In addition, by the election of my peers on the Board, I serve as the President of the Board of CVEC Fiber and the CVEC voting Representative of Western Farmers Generating and Transmission Cooperative.
Enough about me. CVEC is a steady, well-performing and respected electric cooperative. We consistently have the best rates in the region. And, we consistently have one of the lowest outage-time rates in the region. As a cooperative CVEC is a non-profit organization owned by its users(you) that, by law, can only charge what is necessary to deliver electricity to your doorstep. As a trustee, the job you have entrusted to me (one of eight) is to set and monitor policy that enables our CVEC employees to effectively carry out their mission of providing electricity to its members to improve life and serve community. In alignment with that mission, your subsidiary CVEC Fiber is one of many cooperative subsidiaries that have successfully provided true high-speed internet to rural America when no one else would.
Over the last few years, the electric industry has become incredibly complex and challenging even to understand. More than we can discuss here. As always, if you wish to have more in-depth discussion about anything related to CVEC please contact me at 405-802-4651. Or email me at District5Trustee@mycvec.coop. So there is no confusion, For integrity and security reasons I will not be campaigning or commenting on social media. Thank you for your support.
Josh Clark
Josh Clark is seeking to serve as the representative on Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative’s Board of Trustees for District 5.
Josh and his wife of 21 years, Kasey, reside in the Shawnee Twin Lakes area. They have one son, Barrett, and a miniature schnauzer named Enzo.
Josh is a lifetime resident of the Dale area; he graduated from Dale High School in 2001; later he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business from St. Gregory’s University, and then a Master’s of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governor’s University. Josh has primarily been employed in the manufacturing industry, racking up over 20 years of experience in various roles and capacities, from the shop floor to independent contributor to positions of leadership. He is currently employed at Oil States Industries – Piper Valve in Oklahoma City, OK as the Quality and Logistics Manager. Prior to this position, Josh was employed by CVEC as the Engineering Services Supervisor. Furthermore, Josh served on the Dale School Board for four years before resigning from that post so his wife could transfer from Shawnee Schools to Dale Elementary to teach third grade.
During his tenure at CVEC, Josh served as the supervisor of the staking engineers. Although new to industry, he quickly gained insight and experience by riding along and working side by side with the staking engineers, and then took the lead on highway projects and many other large commercial jobs. Additionally, Josh implemented GPS-based-electronic staking, and worked closely with contractors in beginning to GPS-locate each power pole.
Josh is seeking to serve on the Board of Trustees because he has a passion for serving. He wants to ensure the current achievements of CVEC endure while also pursuing continuous improvement. Josh wants to represent the members’ voices and ideas in helping to shape the cooperative’s direction and ensuring its success. He wants to learn more about the co-op and the industry as whole, and not come in to shake-things-up, rather, to help the cooperative continue to move forward while providing new insights and fresh ideas. Ultimately, Josh believes that his business knowledge and experiences could be valuable to the cooperative as a whole and specifically to the members of District 5.
