Cooperative Principle #7 – Concern for Community:
Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, its board, employees and members are proud to announce that we are continuing our commitment to follow the seven cooperative principles. In this particular instance, we are partnering with CoBank to follow cooperative principle number seven to build more vibrant rural communities and share success:
We are allocating funds in cooperation with CoBank's Sharing Success Program to be awarded to up to 3 Nonprofit organizations in our service territory. CoBank typically opens its process around Spring; from there, CVEC will open to take applications. The total amount of the gifts will be up to $15,000.00. ($7,500.00 guaranteed from Canadian Valley Electic Cooperative to be matched equally by CoBank – while funds last) Organizations will be chosen based on the application at the recommendation of the CVECares Committee and confirmed by the Board of Trustees. We could not be prouder to continue to serve the communities we serve daily with electricity!
Guidelines:
Organizations must reside within the geographical boundaries of Canadian Valley’s service territory but are not required to be members of or served by Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative.
Interested organizations must complete the application in its entirety and submit it by the associated deadline of Wednesday, May 8th, by 11:59 p.m.!
A copy of the organization or charity's IRS 501(c)(3) tax exemption must be included with the application. If the applying organization is not a 501(c)(3), please submit the organization's TIN (taxpayer identification number), also referred to as an EIN (employer identification number).
Matching funds are contingent upon the availability (even after CVEC selects winners) of matching funds from CoBank.
A field visit will be required by the CVECares Committee. Applicants will be contacted by Friday, May 17th, to schedule.
Winners of the CVEC applications will be notified by Friday, May 31, 2024. Funds will likely be available by July 1st.
